(d) Auto-step operation is stopped by pressing HOLD key.

(START key goes out and HOLD key lights).

(e) Auto-step mode is deactivated by pressing lit AUTO STEP

key. Observe that AUTO STEP key light goes out.

e. Auto-Sweep (Tuning) Control Mode. This mode allows the opera-

tor to select a range of frequencies which the receiver automatic-

ally sweeps.

(1) Auto-sweep limit presetting.

Press AUTO SWEEP key.

Observe that AUTO SWEEP and HOLD

Select desired upper frequency limit using keyboard nu-

Press STO key and observe that it lights.

Press F2 and observe that it lights.

(MHZ) display.

Press STO key and observe that it lights.

Press F1 key and observe that it lights. Note that if,

after START-key is pressed, the F1 and F2 keys flash on

and off, one of the following conditions exists:

The sweep range is too small for the selected receiver

The upper frequency limit (F2) is less than the lower

limit (F1). Flashing is deactivated by pressing the

CLR key.

(h) To examine stored frequency limits, press RCL key and

the desired limit key (F1 or F2).

(2) Auto-sweep/manual tuning activation.

(a) After performing steps in paragraph 3-4e(1) above, press

START key. Observe that START key lights and HOLD key

goes out. TUNING FREQUENCY (MHZ) display is now changing

at a rate controlled by SWEEP/STEP RATE control. Press

HOLD key to stop frequency sweep operation. Observe that

START key goes out and HOLD key lights. Observe also that
