All operating and mode code select switches
a. Control, Transponder Set C-8280(P)/
for Receiver-Transmitter, Radio RT-859/
APX. (fig. 2-1) The following chart lists the
APX-27 are located on Control, Transponder
controls and their function in each position.
Set C-6280(P)/APX, except for the MODE 2
code select switch which is on the front panel
of the RT-859/APX-72.
Turns RT-859/APX-72 off.
MASTER control
OFF
Places RT-859/APX-72 in warmup
STBY
(standby) condition.
Applies power to operate RT-859/APX-72, but
LOW
at reduced receiver sensitivity.
NORM
Applies power to operate RT-859/APX-72 at
normal receiver sensitivity.
Transmits emergency reply signals to mode 1,
EMER
2, or 3/A interrogations regardless of mode
control settings.
IDENT
When momentarily actuated (switch has
IDENT-MIC switch
spring-loaded return) initiates identification
of position reply for approximately 25
seconds.
Prevents triggering of identification of position
QUT
reply.
Not used.
MIC
Enables the RT-859/APX-72 to reply to
ON
M-1 switch
mode 1 interrogations.
Disables the reply to mode 1 interrogations.
OUT
Enables the TS-1843/APX to locally interro-
TEST
gate the RT-859/APX-72 mode 1.
Enables the RT-859/APX-72 to reply to
ON
M-2 switch
mode 2 interrogations.
